Trailer: Soul Beach

As I may have mentioned before, I generally miss trailers, but it just so happens that I've spotted a bunch of great ones over the last week, which I just have to post here.  Rather than inflict video-overload on the world, I'm going to blog about these one by one over the next couple of days so that they get the airtime they deserve.

The first one is for Soul Beach by Kate Harrison.  The trailer only debuted yesterday, but I heard about the book a few months ago.  I can't wait to read the novel because it's totally different from the usual YA fare - combining technology with supernatural elements.  Here's the blurb to give you an idea:

When Alice Forster receives an email from her dead sister she assumes it must be a sick practical joke. Then an invitation arrives to the virtual world of Soul Beach, an idyllic online paradise of sun, sea and sand where Alice can finally talk to her sister again - and discover a new world of friendships, secrets and maybe even love . . . . But why is Soul Beach only inhabited by the young, the beautiful and the dead? Who really murdered Megan Forster? And could Alice be next?

And here's the trailer:

I really love the use of the magenta and turquoise against the black - the perfect holiday undercut with darkness.  This one is definitely on my Autumn reading list.
